I have started the sister site to 36aday with 36aweek! It is a blog aimed to cover all the happenings in the photography, art and graphic design world. I am taking submissions of work for review to be included on the site as well. Enjoy!! http://www.36aweek.blogspot.com/

Take 2

This was test run take 2. I was walking around this time so it took more concentration to make the scenes as everything was moving and changing but I can see a start - nothing amazing yet but I'm getting there. These show a consideration beginning to appear to do with colour and space and relationship of the two as well as the connections this makes with the people.
If anyone wants to leave me feedback, I would love that! Am fumbling around in the dark a bit at the moment but have a solid faith that all will work well in the end.

I liked the light

This shot I took very much on the run and was pleased at how it came out. I liked the light that day and these two seemed more like characters. I have a strange attachment to this photo. I am not in love with it, but something in me can't hate it either. So in the spirit of trying not to second guess myself - here it is.

Cat

I saw a cat today! I didn't realise how strange it seemed until I saw it. Always seems a bit weird when you see them on the street, I don't put New York City and cats together. You can see him a bit better if you click on the photo.

There are so many old cars in the city

I am always surprised by how many of these lovely old cars are still around. I end up trying to cut out the rest of surroundings to see if I could make this look like another time.

Caught up a tree

There seem to be a lot of balloons in this city. This just caught my eye when I was walking through the park. I like how it acts like a reminder of the people gone before you.

Printing is therapeutic

Wednesday 13th January 2010

Tonight was the last night of class. I suspected it was going to be a sad event but in actual fact it ended up being very fruitful - Some very interesting ideas to come out of tonight.

I know everyone always says how important it is to print your stuff and I guess I hadn't realised that I had stopped doing it. It changed a lot for me in my editing and actually got me really excited!

Say What?

Wednesday 13th January 2010

I found this little illustration when I was ordering some food the other day... I'm still not too sure what it was instructing/warning me about my drink but I liked it. Simple pleasures.

This week

I am all over the place this week. I have learnt more in this last 7 days than I have in the last month for sure. It always begins as a process that seems difficult and stressful, but I've been finding that things do come good - at the moment in fast forward it would seem!

Insights

I am beginning to revisit old photos and see the merit that they had in ways that I had never discovered before. It's very interesting to revisit your work and makes you wonder in slight panic at the mass amount of things you may have missed in your work before this time. I guess we just all have to trundel on in the hope that we saw what we were meant to see at the time and everything glides along in the pattern and manner that it was meant to.

Notetaking

As the beginning of 2010 seems to be throwing up a lot of life lessons and learning already, I have decided that positivity is the way forward and have been keeping a journal/taking notes.

It will hopefully be the beginning of a new way of seeing which will hopefully affect the way I do see - so fingers crossed!

New Year

I feel a sense of calming with this new year. I don't have anything that last year held badly for me - in fact it was a very good year for me - but I feel like this new year allows me the chance to be who I want to be - achieve my intentions, re-light my inspiration, and cement my ambition in all that I want to do.

I hope this feeling to be universal in everyone in some form, bring some joy of hope and new light and energy into your hearts.

Happy New Year
